As the story goes, Bucktown was named after the goats that roamed there once upon a time. Another one of Chicago's fabled goat tales? We can't say for sure. What we do know is this: The once-working-class neighborhood has had an incredible evolution. As an artists' community, nightlife hotspot, foodie destination, and shopping mecca, Bucktown is undisputedly one of Chicago's trendiest neighborhoods.
Start your day by grabbing coffee at a local coffee shop (our favorites are Fairgrounds Cafe or Ipsento 606 on Milwaukee Ave). Check the local gift stores such as Virtu, where you can find anything from handmade jewelry to artisan ceramics. Get together with family or friends for dinner at Le Bouchon - a bustling neighborhood French bistro with classic cuisine & quaint decor.
There is a unique mix of independent bookstores, great parks, shops, bars, galleries, etc. Pulaski International is also located in Bucktown, a highly rated and sought-after school. The neighborhood has various housing, including modern new construction, stately brownstones, and loft apartments and condominiums. Getting around couldn't be easier for homeowners - from walking, running, and biking the 606 Trail with easy access to the Metra station (Blue Line) and highway.
